Chloe Crowhurst and Kem Cetinay couple up DESPITE her admitting she used to date his best mate
Both decided they fancied each other in the first episode of the reality show
CONTESTANT Chloe Crowhurst was shocked after she was paired up with her ex-boyfriend's BEST MATE on tonight's Love Island.
The blonde Essex girl burst out: "Oh my God, I know him!" as hairdresser Kem Cetinay was introduced to the villa.
She told the girls: “I dated his best mate. But to be fair, it wasn’t really dating. It was a bit of dinner, that was it really. Put the past in the past.”
Despite her candid comments, Chloe was reluctant to admit she fancied Kem, telling host Caroline Flack: “I can’t! I dated his best mate!”
But Kem admitted he had a crush on the blonde, confessing: “I think she’s a nice girl.”
Kem initially seemed pleased with his partner, saying: "You can tell she's pretty, you can tell she's got banter."
But he soon had second thoughts, claiming he wasn't on the show to meet a typical "Essex girl".
He added: "She's not my type. I'm not settling. I'm open to other birds."
And Chloe was also questioning her choice with 5ft 7in Kem "too short" for her.
She said: "I'm not sure how he feels about me after dating his mate."
Kem was already eyeing up Amber Davies who'd been coupled with Harley Judge.
He said: "I think she's looking at me all the time."
Chloe has also previously dated Towie's Jon Clark with the Essex lad upset at her decision to join the show.
The romantic fall-out between Jon and Chloe has been dramatic – with Chloe hitting back branding Jon a liar and claiming to have been single when she signed up to the show.
She told The Sun: “Jon is my ex-boyfriend. We broke up a number of months ago. I’m single and have been for the past few months."
