COLEEN Nolan became emotional as she described the humiliation she felt after discovering her ex-husband Shane Richie was cheating on her.

The conversation came up during a discussion about putting on a “brave face” during today’s Loose Women.

When asked about the affair, Coleen explained: “It’s humiliating, for a long time even when I did find out I wanted to try and fight for it.

“People thought I deserved everything I got.”

“It’s when people know and your close friends know. You dread it coming out and it’s the moment that everyone knows. I’d go out supermarket shopping and everyone was so lovely. But I’d be like, ‘Don’t hug me else I’ll cry’.

“We had loads of mutual friends – I never asked them. I knew they were going to have to lie for one of us.”

Coleen has made no secret of the pain she felt following the break down of their relationship.

However the 52-year-old has also defended Shane - who she married in 1990 - and admitted she just wants them to move on.

She said: “It's been 20 years since me and Shane split up.

“I feel sorry for him because every time people say she was married to Shane Richie, 'who cheated on her', it's like OK move on, we've moved on.”
