How old is Katie Derham?
Katie Derham was born on June 18, 1970 and her full name is Catherine Beatrice Margaret Derham.
The presenter was born in Canterbury, Kent to her chemist father and teacher mother, and the family moved to Cheshire within a year of her birth.
She studied Economics at Magdalene College, Cambridge but made her move into broadcasting in 1995 when she started as a researcher at the BBC on Radio 4's Money Box.
Who is Katie Derham's husband John Vincent?
Katie married restaurateur John Vincent in 1999 and the couple have two daughters, Natasha and Eleanor.
The couple met at a university ball but has recalled how she dismissed his advances initially after mistaking him for a security guard.
She told Woman&Home magazine earlier this year: "John proposed to me the night we met – I thought he was joking, but he claims he knew I was The One.
"We didn't start going out, though, for another two years – but by then both of us were sure pretty quickly that we'd settle down."
How long has Katie Derham hosted BBC Proms?
Katie has been hosting the BBC's prom season since 2010, after making the move back from ITN where she had worked for 12 years.
The star covers the events for BBC Two, BBC Four and BBC Radio 3 and admits it's her favourite time of year.
She told the : "It’s just a joy from start to finish.
“They are some of the best classical concerts around the world; there’s a huge variety of music and I get amazing access to the finest players.
"It’s opened my eyes and ears to a lot of music I didn’t know, and there’s something about being at the Royal Albert Hall that gives every concert a sense of occasion."
When did Katie Derham take part in Strictly Come Dancing?
Katie took part in the 13th series of Strictly Come Dancing, where she was paired with professional dancer Anton du Beke.
The couple finished top of the leader board in week four after an impressive American Smooth Foxtrot, and made it all the way through to the final.
While they eventually finished in fourth place, Katie loved the experience, and would like to learn more with her husband.
She told the Express: "It’s made me exercise more and keep a level of fitness, but like everybody else who’s done that show, I often think I ought to go and have lessons and do more.
"So my next challenge is to try and get my husband to do that with me. He’s really up for it but it’s like everything, isn’t it – another month goes past and we still haven’t done it.”
In 2017 she took part in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special and won the title with partner for the night Brendan Cole.
