Singer Dua Lipa celebrates her chart success with singer boyfriend Paul Klein from LA band LANY — and romance is hotting up
DUA LIPA has plenty to celebrate this week after she became the first female artist to score a No1 single since ADELE two years ago.
And I can reveal she will be toasting the success of New Rules with her boyfriend, US singer PAUL KLEIN.
The Hotter Than Hell singer has been dating Paul — who is front man for LA band LANY — since they met at the British Summertime gigs in London’s Hyde Park earlier this year.
But while it is early days, sources say the couple’s relationship is already heating up.
And the rocker looked pretty pleased for his new girlfriend, planting a kiss on her cheek after she was officially awarded her No1 result.
One friend told me: “This romance is very new but it is going incredibly well.
“They seem to be besotted with each other and Paul was delighted for Dua when she landed the No1.
“He was with her when she was given her trophy and she couldn’t resist posting a snap of him kissing her on her Instagram after it was made official.
"He is very popular with her friends and team too, which is a great sign.”
Biz on Sunday revealed earlier this year how Dua, who was previously linked to HARRY STYLES, had locked lips with CHRIS MARTIN at Glastonbury.
And after the COLDPLAY frontman recoupled with ex ANNABELLE WALLIS, it’s nice to see that Dua is also moving on with a blossoming new romance.
Her latest love also happens to know his way around a stage after finding fame with LANY (as in Los Angeles, New York). And while Coldplay-level stardom still beckons, the alt-rock three-piece are currently touring the world with their debut record, also called LANY.
It also probably doesn’t hurt that the singer is a recognised model, with campaigns for posh brands Prada and Banana Republic under his belt.
The source went on: “Things are going brilliantly for Dua at the moment.
“She has been walking on air since taking the No1 spot.
“The fact she is happy in her personal life as well seems like the icing on top.”
The delighted singer took to Instagram on Friday to write a message to her fans: “New Rules is the official UK Number 1!
“I am currently in Japan running around Shibuya . . . living my very best life!
“Number 1 — We did it! Thank you for streaming, downloading and sharing it with your friends. Love you forever!”
And she also shared a snap of a huge Number One-shaped blue and white cake.
A gorgeous new boyfriend, and cake. What more could a girl want?

Leo flies in face of 'green' ideals
LEONARDO DiCAPRIO chartered a seaplane to fly 19 miles between two islands in the Maldives – despite being a passionate environmental campaigner.
The actor raises millions for climate change prevention but was staying at the Amilla Fushi resort with pal TOBEY MAGUIRE when he decided he wanted to party at the Amilla Finolhu hotel. And he decided against the option of a 30-minute speedboat ride in favour of his own wings.
A hotel source told me: “We think this is the first time this has happened.
“We couldn’t believe it when we heard about the request, especially because of Leo’s campaigning.
“The two hotels are connected. Amilla Fushi – where the BECKHAMS had their New Year’s Eve party – is quieter, whereas Amilla Finolhu is more of the party isle. The hotel company is used to ferrying guests between the two and most people are happy with that.”
Sources close to Leo last night insisted he had taken a boat to the resort.
But my source, who saw him touch down, begged to differ. And revellers at the Summer Lovin’ Beach Festival, hosted by 10AK, also told how they couldn’t believe it when they saw the seaplane land and Leo emerge.
Naturally, the actor was soon spotted partying with a bunch of drop-dead gorgeous models.
And I hear the fun didn’t end until 7am the next day, before Leo flew back to his room at Amilla Fushi.
Last year Leo took a private jet from Cannes to New York to pick up an environmental award – before jetting back to Cannes to continue partying.
Let’s hope the cost of this jet-setting isn’t too hard on the environment . . . or on his liver.
Cheryl and Justin Bieber future collaboration
THE rumour mill has been going into overdrive about a collaboration between CHERYL and JUSTIN BIEBER after he said she should “give him a call”.
And I can exclusively reveal Justin is poised to team up with the new mum for a song after he admitted this week that discussions between the pair are ongoing.
Justin said: “This isn’t a new thing.
“I know Cheryl – she’s a great person as well as a talented performer and there has been the potential of a collaboration for years. I don’t think it’s going to be something that happens next week but next time she is in LA we should set up a meeting and see what we can make happen.”
Asked why the collaboration hasn’t yet happened, Justin added: “She’s obviously become a mom. I’ve been concentrating on myself.”
No change there, then.
Ella is a hurriCANER
ELLA EYRE says she has a party-loving alter-ego named Hurricane Elsie.
The singer, who has released new single Ego with TY DOLLA SIGN, said she got the nickname on tour with RUDIMENTAL after some booze-till-10am benders.
And Ella revealed this week how she gave her caner side an airing in LA last year. She said: “I was single, I was like, ‘Raah!’ It was nice to explore, get drunk and do silly things.
“Back in the day, when I was touring with Rudimental, I’d get to bed at 10am. They used to call me Hurricane Elsie, because I did not stop.
“After that, I did a few more tours and lost my voice a lot, so I reined it in a bit. I was healthier.
“So when I went to LA, it was nice to revisit the Hurricane.” Even if she is more sensible now, I hope Ella – who teamed up with SIGALA at V Festival yesterday – lets her wild side out of the box now and again.
Clean Bandit in talks with Stormzy
CLEAN BANDIT have racked up an impressive list of collaborations, but it sounds like their latest will be the most exciting yet.
I caught up with GRACE CHATTO this week ahead of the group’s performance at V Festival and she revealed that they are in talks with STORMZY about new tunes.
She told me: “We have met Stormzy and we’re hoping to make some new music together soon. I can’t say definitely yet but hopefully.
“I haven’t caught his set this summer so I can’t wait to see him at V this weekend.” It’s just as well Grace, left, is getting to watch the rapper, as she will miss out on tonight’s headliner – and her childhood idol – PINK, who is playing at the V site in Staffs while Grace performs in Essex.
Grace went on: “I was really hoping to catch her. I listened to her as a teenager and I even sneaked out of school to see her at Brixton Academy when I was 16. I love her.”
Also performing at V is ANNE MARIE, who Clean Bandit are teaming up with on tour in the US in October.
And Grace admitted she has high expectations after running wild with ZARA LARSSON on their last tour.
She said: “That tour was amazing. We had loads of fun parties backstage.
“There were lots of drinking games and daring games.
“We played Blocky 123, where you play hide and seek and then you have to get back to a base.
“But we added shots, so you had to play shot roulette when you got back to base, and it would be a shot of water or vodka.”

Emily's orange appeal
EMILY RATAJKOWSKI is more often found reclining on sun-loungers wearing . . . well, nothing.
So it makes a change to see her out in public doing something pretty normal.
The London-born model opted for jeans and a midriff-baring orange top as she nipped out for a caffeine break in Los Angeles this week.
But I reckon she still turned a few heads with her outfit.
It is Emily, after all.

LADY GAGA is used to ruffling feathers – but now she is being sued by a prisoner in Pennsylvania after she had him banned from Facebook following an online spat.
That said, it turns out he is in jail after ten bank robberies and has a history of suing celebs.
Robbie's hounded in lift
ROBBIE WILLIAMS has sparked speculation with his latest vlog entry that his wild days aren’t as far behind him as he says.
In a video clip which appeared on the former TAKE THAT star’s website this week, he recounts an apparent near-miss with police at an ADELE concert he attended with pals. Robbie, left, says: “We were at The O2 and we get into the lift and two policemen with a dog get into the lift.
“I went, ‘Excuse me gentlemen, can I make sure of one thing? Is that dog a drug sniffer or a bomb-sniffing deterrent dog?’ They went, ‘Bomb’ so I went, ‘OK cool, floor one, please’ and thought, ‘Thank f*** for that’.”
Either one of Robbie’s pals was holding something they shouldn’t or the singer just let slip something he shouldn’t.

Johnny's new pedigree chum
JOHNNY DEPP and dogs in the same sentence can spell trouble, so I was relieved to hear this picture was taken on a movie set.
The Hollywood actor, who famously sneaked his Yorkshire terriers into Australia with then-wife AMBER HEARD, cuddled up to this cute white pooch on the set of film Richard Says Goodbye.
The flick tells the story of a college professor, played by Johnny, who throws all caution to the wind and decides to live life with a touch of madness. That’s a story I’m sure Johnny can relate to – if you take out the first bit, that is.
Let’s just hope for the dog’s sake that he doesn’t disappear into a shipping crate any time soon.
