Melanie Sykes films a NEW Boddington’s advert, 20 years after finding fame on beer commercial
It looked like no time had passed as the star, 46, posed with a pint of bitter on a picnic bench

IT may have been 20 years since Melanie Sykes found fame with her 'by heck it's gorgeous' Boddington's adverts.
But it looked like no time had passed as the stunning brunette returned to film another ad for the brewery today.
Now 46, Mel looked stunning in a simple black dress and strappy heels as she perched with a pint on a picnic bench in Brighton.
Donning a beige trench coat to wrap up warm in some of the scenes, the star wore her hair in loose waves while filming in a wagon through the Sussex countryside.
Fitness fanatic Mel showed she had kept herself in stunning shape - she regularly posts bikini selfies on her Instagram account.
It's a sweet return for Mel to the brand which made her famous.
The original string of adverts for the bitter ran from 1996-1999, before Mel made the leap into presenting on The Big Breakfast and later Today With Des and Mel.
The commercials captured the public imagination and became memorable for Mel's broad Northern accent.
Mel first revealed her big Boddington's return back in March - posting a snap of herself with a pint on Instagram.
Posing with a can of the beer, she told her Instagram followers: "Guess what you lot I have some extremely exciting news I want to share with you .
"I am being reunited with my old muckers Boddingtons Bitter. After twenty years we are going to shoot a brand new commercial !!!!
"So happy and excited I cannot even begin to tell you
She captioned a string of snaps, writing besides one: "Just one more pic peeps! Grinning like a Lancashire cat at my reunion with Boddingtons Bitter 21 years later.
"I am buzzing and so happy to be part of the team. Brings back great memories."
And in a statement on the rekindled partnership, she said she was "incredibly fond" of the ads and "really enjoyed" shooting the commercials.
She added: "It is just over twenty years since I appeared in the first ad and it was a truly life changing time.
“It marked the end of a successful modelling career and introduced me into the world of TV presenting."
She added: "I am very proud of the adverts and I know they hold a lot of nostalgia not just for me but for many people.”
Boddington's is most known for its creamy texture - adopting the catchphrase "do you want a flake in that?" as part of its advertising campaign.
