Doctor Foster spoiler: Gemma’s deadly feud with Simon to end with ANOTHER explosive dinner party scene

THE series finale of Doctor Foster is set to end with another explosive dinner party scene this evening.
A sneak-peek from the hotly-anticipated ending sees Gemma sitting at a table with her son Tom, her friend Ros and her on/off boyfriend James – but her estranged husband Simon is nowhere to be seen.
In the image Gemma and Tom looked very shocked by something – raising questions as to who they have seen walking in the restaurant.
At the end of the last episode Gemma, played by Suranne Jones, is seen preparing to run her ex (played by Bertie Carvel), down as her car is seen veering towards him after a series of explosive rows.
But did she really run him over or is it Simon who shows up at the dinner party?
One of the most infamous scenes from the first series of the show featured a dinner party, so it seems only fitting the second one does to.
In an incredibly dramatic and tense scene Gemma arranges for her and Simon to go to dinner at Kate’s wealthy parents’ house, where she breaks the news of Simon and Kate’s affair, and the pregnancy which she thought Kate had terminated.
It causes a giant row and an amazing scene in which Kate slaps Gemma.
Meanwhile the ending of this series has been kept firmly under wraps but Suranne has teased this could be her last time as the GP.
She said: “Tuesday could end this thing totally.

“I’m busy in a play next year and then I go off with Sally Wainright to the Yorkshire Moors for Gentleman Jack. I’m not available until January 2019.”
And the show’s writer, Mike Barlett, has also hinted this episode could well be the last.
In an exclusive interview, Mike said: “No, I haven’t written a third series.
“The BBC has never ever put pressure on us to do more and it’s not that sort of show. You could see that at the end of series one. There was just as many people going, ‘Don’t do a series two’. It’s because people care and I love that.
“There’s a lot of trust that we’d only do more if there’s a story and a reason. So there’s no pressure to do more. We all just focus on the one we’re doing and that’s a massive amount of work for everybody.”
Doctor Foster airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
