Who is Jack P Shepherd?
Jack P Shepherd, 31, was born in Pudsey, Yorkshire, on January 14, 1988.
The initial 'P' is taken from his middle name, Peter.
Growing up, his mother worked as an estate agent while his dad was employed at the council.
He landed his first TV role aged 12 in Where The Heart Is and also played Charlie Kolakowski in the BBC drama Clocking Off.
Why was Jack fined after his hair transplant?
In October, 2019, Jack revealed he had underwent a hair transplant procedure with the help of Crown Clinic.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, the actor revealed he had considered quitting his acting career due to his drastic hair loss while showing off his results in a before and after photo.
"Nine months it’s been since I had my hair transplant, this is the first time I’ve compared pictures to what I used to look like," he revealed.
"I decided to get it done as it was affecting my mental health.
To the point where I considered giving up acting and not being in the public eye. Thank you so much @asimshahmalak and everyone at Crown Clinic #hairtransplant #fuetransplant."
The Sun revealed how soap bosses weren't happy with Jack's sponsored post as stars of shows such as Corrie are strictly prohibited from taking part in paid advertising work.
Insiders familiar with the situation revealed: "Jack got a real dressing down and was told not to repeat his behaviour. It was a serious breach."
It's believed that the violation has allegedly cost him thousands of pounds for plugging the hair transplant clinic.
When did Jack P Shepherd join the cast of Coronation Street?
In April 2000 Jack P Shepherd joined the cast of Coronation Street as David Platt, taking over the role from Thomas Ormson.
Jack made regular on-screen appearances as Gail and Martin Platt's son, before the role took a bigger and dramatic turn when he hit his late teens.
David began to show a sinister side as he grew up, pushing Gail down the stairs and launching various hate and blackmail campaigns against other characters.
Jack has won a series of accolades and gongs during his time in Coronation Street, including awards for Best Bad Boy, Best Villain and in 2018, Best Actor.
It was revealed in September 2017 that Jack had signed a new contract with Corrie, agreeing to a salary of £220,000.
In September 2018 it was hinted that Jack could be sent to leave the soap after an 18 year run when he admitted that he's "played every single storyline you could possibly play."
