STRICTLY Come Dancing fans shared their sadness tonight when they realised Kevin Clifton wasn't performing with his wife Karen.

The professional couple are currently going through something of a marriage crisis, as Karen, 35, was said to be dating accountant Stuart Wood.

While Karen has now ended their romance and decided to focus on trying to save her marriage, the husband and wife didn't dance together during the opening group dance.

While the professionals do occasionally swap partners in the routines, the majority of the time the married couples on the show still dance together.

But tonight, Kevin, 35, performed with Janette Manrara while Karen danced with Brendan Cole.

A number of viewers noticed the change, and took to Twitter to share their sadness.

One wrote: "Kevin not dancing with Karen :(" while another added: "Kevin isn't dancing with Karen. Maybe the rumours are true...#Strictly".

A third agreed, tweeting: "Maybe Kevin and Karen have split. He wasn't dancing with her."

Despite not performing together on tonight's results show, Kevin was pictured with his wedding ring still on during Saturday night's live show.

Kevin was clearly seen with the ring on his left hand while stood in the 'Clauditorium'.

However the 35-year-old was stood no where near his wife, who remained on the other side of the room.

Karen has been open about the problems she has been having with Kevin, telling The Sun Online at the end of last month: "We're just a regular couple, we've been together for seven years and like any other relationship you have your ups and downs and nothing is ever perfect so you make it work.

"Everything is fine. It adds a little bit of spark to the relationship and it just means that we care about each other.

"We just need to keep pushing and relationships take work, it's not as easy as you think, especially being in a job like Strictly."
