STRICTLY Come Dancing fans are convinced judge Bruno Tonioli gave Debbie McGee a very rude compliment during the finale.

The judges were blown away by Debbie and Giovanni's Salsa performance and Bruno was so taken he gave her a comment that left viewers in hysterics.

He said: "You've got to be kidding me, Debbie, she's like the TARDIS.

"She defies all the laws of physics and the concept of time."

However, his brief pause after the word TARDIS left viewers thinking he had told her she was bigger on the inside like the space and time travelling machine from Doctor Who is.

One viewer said: "She's like the TARDIS' what, bigger on the inside? #Strictly"

A third added: "I'm glad 'she's like the tardis' went in that direction #strictly."

Joe McFadden, Gemma Atkinson, Alexandra Burke and Debbie McGee made it through to the final four after thirteen weeks of gruelling training.

This year was the first year that Kevin Clifton didn’t make it to the finals, having been knocked out two weeks ago alongside his celebrity partner, Susan Calman.

Regardless, both Susan and Kevin were there cheering on the remaining contestants as the whole cast returned for the finale.

The finale marked the end of Shirley Ballas’ first year as head judge after taking over from Len Goodman, something she has revealed was one “beautiful sparkling journey” for her.

However, after dividing fans for her tough critiques, the jury is still out over whether or not she’ll return for another run next year.

Shirley Ballas admits her future on Strictly Come Dancing is in doubt

Speaking to The Sun ahead of the finale, she said: “Just like the voting, nothing is for sure. Let’s get this season finished first.”

The season has proven to not be short on scandal – as devoted fans have created a challenge out of a stunning lift done by Joe and Katya and become convinced that Mollie King and AJ Pritchard are a couple.

It has also seen the marriage of professional dancers Kevin and Karen Clifton hit the rocks, while rumours of a romance between Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez has continued throughout the series run.
