Pop star is all smiles for a dip with family and friends - but fans will be concerned to see a giant dark scar on her right thigh
SELENA Gomez reveals a dramatic scar on her upper leg as she bathes in the sea surrounded by family and friends - with no sign of boyfriend Justin Bieber.
The US singer, who had two operations this year due to her need for a kidney transplant, showed off the dark scar along her right inner thigh as she took a dip in the sea, wearing a plunging black swimsuit.
The 25-year-old pop star - who recently began dating Justin again, against the wishes of her mother - was all smiles as she entered the waves in Cabo, Mexico, with close pals.
Wearing hooped earrings, the raven-haired beauty wasn't afraid of taking the plunge - but raised questions about where the leg scar came from, and why Justin wasn't with her on holiday.
Over the summer Selena revealed a long, narrow scar across her stomach - after donor Francia Raisa gave her a kidney which she needed to survive Lupus.
And an interview back in October, Selena said that a problem with one of her arteries meant she needed a second emergency surgery, which might explain the leg scar.
After bed rest and several weeks' recovery time, Selena said: "It’s really hard to think about, or even to swallow, especially now that as soon as I got the kidney transplant, my arthritis went away, my lupus, there’s about a 3 to 5 percent chance it will ever come back, my blood pressure is better.
“My energy, my life has been better.”
Soon after, Selena shocked her fan base in November when, having split from The Weeknd, she got back together with former flame Justin Bieber.
But the romance has hit the skids already, as reports recently claimed Selena is having Christian counselling sessions with Justin following a row over his ex Hailey Baldwin.

Sources at Hillsong Church have told that Justin, 23, reached out to his 21-year-old model ex Hailey while renewing his faith - and building an “open and honest” approach to life.
The website reports that Selena was angered by the news which resulted in the pair joining Christian couples therapy at their church to try and make their latest attempt at their relationship work.
The couple's counselling sessions are apparently linked to why Selena's mother was rushed to hospital - following an alleged bust-up with her daughter.
TMZ claims that Mandy Teefey got "so worked up" about her daughter’s rekindled romance with the singer that she needed treatment.
Selena and Justin - who dated on and off from 2011 to 2015 - got back together in November and Jelena have been almost inseparable since, regularly attending church services together.
It was previously reported that Justin wanted to "prove" to Selena’s family that he has changed.
The news of their counselling session comes after a member of Selena's family slammed Justin as a "vile human".
They said: "Justin is a vile human and will never be accepted by us.
"As long as she is even speaking to him in any way, it is not only disrespectful to everyone around her, it is disrespectful to herself."
