Dancing On Ice stars don their skates for official pictures as they reveal their biggest fears ahead of first live show

THE Dancing on Ice stars have donned their skates for official pictures ahead of the show's launch on Sunday.
The ITV show returns after a four year absence and this year's cast posed by themselves and with their skating partners in preparation for the first live show.
Wearing an array of colourful and glittering costumes, the celebrities are all smiles in their photos, but behind the scenes they all admitted to having some fears about the ice.
Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Waring, 39, said: "Falling, or misjudging a landing. I suppose that’s
everybody’s fear isn’t it?
"It’s the fear of the unknown. But you have to trust."
Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown, 33, added: "I think the main one is what everyone will say, falling on my bottom.
"Fear makes you practice doesn’t it, it was the same on Bake Off. I didn’t want to fail, so I practised and you just have to hope you get a little bit of luck along the way."
A number of stars are worried about hurting themselves, such as Donna Air.
The 38-year-old said: "My biggest fear is hurting myself because I’ve been in a situation before where I’ve hurt myself and not been able to walk.
"I broke both my ankles, so it’s added to my fear, but I have to put that out of my mind, because that alone could cause an accident."
Bucks Fizz star Cheryl Baker, 63, has a similar fear, saying: "I broke an ankle years ago, jumping out of a plane as you do, so I’m fearful for my ankles.
"And also falling flat on my face and being an embarrassment to my kids."
Other contestants are more concerned about injuring or hurting their professional partner.
Love Island winner Kem Cetinay, 21, said: "Trying to lift my partner, but falling over and hurting myself and her.
"Imagine lifting someone and trying to skate? Surely you fall over. And then if I fall over, what do I do? "Do I get up? Do I carry on? Do I just lay on the floor on the ice?"
Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton, 42, has a similar concern, adding: "It’s really dangerous. I’m glad that nobody has to pick me up, but the downside is I have to pick my partner up.
"I’ve also got this weird fixation about slicing my fingers off. I don’t know why."
Indeed, many of the male celebrities have the same fear when it comes to lifting their skating partners.
Rugby ace Max Evans, 34, said: "Surprisingly I have no fears about hurting myself, I’m used to that from the rugby.
"My biggest fear is I do not want to hurt my partner, that would be the worst because recently I watched the top 10 worst injuries on Dancing on Ice online.
"I don’t care about myself, I just don’t want to hurt my partner."
Jake Quickenden was more specific with how he fears he could injure his dance partner.
The 29-year-old said: "Kicking my partner in the head with the blade on my skate.
"It’s bad enough kicking someone in the head without one! I’m quite big and I think I need to become more elegant. I’m quite clumsy.
"I’ve got good coordination but I am clumsy. My legs are long. That’s my biggest worry – injuring my partner."
However some stars weren't quite as concerned, with Coronation Street's Brooke Vincent admitting: "I haven’t really thought about fears.
"I don’t really think of fears when I agree to do things, I just think ‘yeah, let’s do it.’
"Obviously the main one is being injured because nobody looks good with one shoe and a boot."

Good Morning Britain's Alex Beresford, 37, said: "I guess the reality is that you could get hurt so obviously falling over on ice is not going to be comfortable.
"No one wants to get injured but at the same time I won’t hold myself back."
Lemar was another star worrying about hurting themselves.
He said: ""The only thing that I’m afraid of is falling, breaking something or hurting myself seriously.
"I love my day job, I love singing and performing so I don’t want to get on the ice and break anything or damage anything!"
But athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton had an altogether different concern, admitting: "I might forget the routine.
"It might get all too much for me and I might forget what I’m supposed to be doing but I’ve got a strategy for if that does happen… I’ll just smile to the camera."
Dancing on Ice returns on Sunday, January 6 at 6pm on ITV.
