John plays Ricky Rollins who’s the lead singer in a band called Relentless.
Viewers will follow his journey with the band who make a deal with the devil.
Ricky demands fortune, fame and a cure for Denise Richards “who is battling breast cancer” in the fictional storyline.
To give back to the devil, his task is to murder another musician – played by Nickelodeon’s Drake Bell.

Throughout the 90 minutes Ricky’s drug taking gets out of control and he near enough hoovers up cocaine whenever it’s placed in front of him.
The OTT film hasn’t received the best reviews however, with one film website branding the performances “some of the worst acting ever committed to film”.
Speaking about the role with , John said: “When the American Satan script first came through and I was told about this character Ricky Rollins, the first thing that captured my attention about it was that it was just such a different character from anything I had been able to do before.
“Ricky is brimming with self-confidence and brilliance.

“He has so much spark about him and so much get-up-and-go, that it was nice to inhabit a slightly brighter, more positive mindset for a change.”
He continued: “Ricky is the kind of person who instantly lights up the room.
