Who’s been in Team Jennifer Hudson on The Voice UK 2018? From Gayatri Nair to Belle Voci

THE Voice UK is back on our screens for 2018 and the competition is heating up.

Here's who the reigning champion Jennifer Hudson, who coached Mo Adeniran to victory last year, has in her team as we reach the grand final...

Who's on Team Jennifer for The Voice 2018?

Belle Voci

Belle Voci is a duo made up of two friends – Sophie, 26, from Norwich and 25-year-old Emily from Mayfair.

They moved Jennifer in the blind audition with their rendition of Delibes' Flower Duet, with the judge enthusing: "I don't care what genre it is – talent is talent."

They beat out Scarlett Quigley in the Battles before singing Nella Fantasia by Sarah Brightman in the Knockouts.

Their rendition of Adele's Skyfall sealed their place in the final.

Gayatri Nair - ELIMINATED

Gayatri Nair wowed the panel with a performance of Powerful by The Cast Of Empire.

She has performed at Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms and featured on Channel 4 with JLS.

Her acoustic cover of David Guetta’s Titanium went viral on YouTube, and her channel has over 36,000 subscribers.

She managed to make it through the Knockouts and earn a place in the live semi finals.

Ross Anderson - ELIMINATED

Ross Anderson, 17, from Glasgow, Scotland, sang his way on to Team Jennifer with his rendition of Drag Me Down by One Direction.

One of the youngest members of the show - the teenager is still a student and also busks in his spare time.

Jake Benson - ELIMINATED

Jake wowed Jennifer with a performance of Issues by Julia Michaels in the blind auditions.

The 26-year-old carpenter from London, who has a young son, was the very first act to audition on this year's show.

Rhianna Abrey - ELIMINATED

Rhianna has a name made for showbiz and secured her place on Will's team by performing Ella Henderson's Ghost. She was then stolen by Jennifer Hudson.

The Insurance Customer Relations worker lives in Hemel Hempstead.

Jilly Riley - ELIMINATED

Jilly Riley is a 25-year-old Yorkshire songwriter.

She wrote her first album on a roll of toilet paper whilst working as a cleaner at a local factory.

Riley has a 14-year-old daughter whom she hopes to make proud during her time on The Voice UK.

Jilly impressed Jennifer Hudson with her rendition of All Right Now.

Jason Nicholson-Porter -ELIMINATED

Jason has been singing since he was a child and describes himself as one of the UK's finest Gospel artists.

The 33-year-old Bromley-born singer performed Amazing Grace for his audition song and it left all of the judges speechless.

Ant and Ox - ELIMINATED

Ant is a part-time estate agent and Ox is a hospitality worker - they are both aged 21.

Ant and Ox met at Brighton University, and although they hadn't really practised music or songwriting before, the pair stuck together and have enjoyed every moment since.

The lads sang Maroon 5's Sunday Morning for their The Voice audition and were wanted by three coaches - in the end they stuck to their guts and chose Team Jennifer.

Who is Jennifer Hudson?

Jennifer Hudson is a 36-year-old singer and actress who first rose to fame in the third season of American Idol in 2004.

Despite only placing seventh, Jennifer has gone on to become one of the show's biggest success stories – having a successful music career before branching out into acting.

Her biggest UK single was 2008 release "Spotlight", which reached 11 in the UK charts.

During her music career, she has made three studio albums and appeared on the soundtrack for Dreamgirls, Sex and the City 2, Winnie Mandela and Sing.

Jennifer won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her star performance as Effie White in 2006 biopic Dreamgirls – acting alongside .

Her release of the soundtrack anthem And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going has gone on to become one of the most successful songs of her career.

She has since appeared as Nelson Mandela's wife Winnie Mandela in a 2011 biopic about her life, Carrie Bradshaw's assistant Louise in the Sex and the City movie, mother-figure Rosaleen Daise in The Secret Life of Bees and had a small role in the Three Stooges remake.

The 36-year-old joined The Voice UK as a judge for the 2017 series and won the show at the first attempt with her act Mo Adeniran.
