I’m A Celeb star Kieron Dyer tells all about fling with Cheryl and reveals Ashley Cole was ‘fascinated’ by her

KIERON Dyer has claimed Ashley Cole was "fascinated" by Cheryl while the I'm a Celeb star was dating her.

Speaking about his brief fling with the ex Girls Aloud star, Kieron admitted his former England club mate would ask "a million and one questions" about Cheryl - just months before he struck up his own romance with the singer.

Spilling all about his 2003 tryst with the Call My Name hitmaker in his new biography, My Story, he revealed: "Whenever I met up with England, the boys asked me questions about Cheryl.

"Ashley Cole asked a million and one questions. He was fascinated by her. When they got together and married, it all started to make sense.

"He was always keen on her and desperate to get to know her."

But while the pair had been friends for some time, Kieron claimed the first he heard about Ashley's relationship with his ex was when he read about it some months later.

Though the pair remained on relatively good terms, exchanging the odd text and stopping to chat when they saw one another, Kieron admitted they were never as close again.

Admitting that he would have liked to "get more serious" with the 34-year-old, Kieron claimed their relationship was doomed from the start as another woman was expecting his child.

Despite his feelings for Cheryl, the former West Ham player knew he wouldn't be able to invest himself properly, given that he had a baby on the way.

But while their romance never blossomed, he still insists that the former X Factor judge is a "great girl" with a good heart.

He gushed: "Nothing will ever change my mind that she’s a great person, though. When my sister was sent to prison — five years after we stopped seeing each other — Cheryl sent a big bunch of flowers and a card to my mum."

The tell-all book also saw the ex sports star also joke about Cheryl's nerves on their first date, quipping that the Geordie beauty had to have "a few drinks to calm herself" before a trip to the cinema.
