What is Three Billboards about?
Three Billboards tells the story of Mildred Hayes, a woman frustrated by the lack of police activity into finding the culprit of her daughter's murderer, taking action into her own hands.
The divorced mother decides to rent three derelict billboards on the outskirts of her town of Ebbing, to declare war against the local police.
Mildred paints the town's revered chief of police, William Willoughby, a controversial message. Things are only exacerbated when his second-in-command Officer Dixon, an immature mother's boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved.

Despite the film being released in the US in November, British moviegoers have had to wait until early January to catch the flick.
The film was officially released in the UK on January 12
It's been given a 15 certification by the BBFC due to its "very strong language, strong violence and sex references."

Three Billboards sees Frances McDormand take on the role of mother Mildred Hayes who rents three billboards to call attention to her daughter's unresolved murder.
She is one of the few performers who has achieved the Triple Crown of Acting: An Academy Award for Fargo, a Tony Award for Good People, and an Emmy Award for Olive Kitteridge.
Woody Harrelson
Acclaimed actor Woody Harrelson takes on the role of the town's revered chief of police, William Willoughby.
This is Woody's third Academy Award nomination after previously being nominated for Best Actor for The People vs. Larry Flynt, as well as a priro Best Supporting Actor nomination for The Messenger.
