Who is Donya Fiorentino?
Donya Fiorentino is a former model turned photographer, who has had some bit parts in film and TV.
She met Gary Oldman at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in 1996.
The pair quickly fell in love and four months after meeting she was pregnant with their first child, a boy called Gulliver.
They soon had another son Charlie and Donya, who had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, became hooked on painkiller.
That spiralled into her returning to booze and becoming addicted to cocaine.
The pair married in 1997 before she filed for divorce in 2001.
Gary was awarded full custody of Gulliver and Charlie after a lengthy legal battle which included the actor claiming his ex-wife was found by her daughter unconscious from a drug overdose, reports Newsweek.
What has Donya Fiorentino accused Gary Oldman of?
In 2001, Donya accused Gary of beating her with a phone handset as she cradled Charlie — allegations he denies.
She claimed in legal papers: “I tried to dial 911. Gary grabbed the receiver and hit me in the face with it three or four times.
“It happened a long time ago but was incredibly traumatising to me because he hit me in front of the kids.”
She labelled her four-year marriage to the five-times married star as “a nightmare” and hit out the Academy Award for “awarding an abuser” following Oldman Best Actor win on Sunday.

What have Donya’s son’s said about the abuse claims?
Donya’s eldest son Gulliver launched a passionate defence of his famous father in an open letter calling Oldman “his hero” and “the man he aspires to be.”
Writing about the alleged telephone attack, Gulliver said: “I can see how coming out with a statement to combat an allegation must look.
“However, I was there at the time of the ‘incident,’ so I'd like to make this radiantly clear: it didn't happen. Anyone who says it did is lying...”
Gulliver wrote: “It has been troubling and painful to see that these false allegations against my father being written about again, especially after this was all settled years ago...
“Custody of children is not given to a wife beater, and under most circumstances, hardly ever a man. My having lived, full time with my father should be in itself, proof enough.”
