Little Mix fans in meltdown as band announce they’re working on fifth album and it’s going to be ‘a dream’

The band have shifted over 30 million records since winning The X Factor in 2011

LITTLE Mix have sent fans into a frenzy of excitement after confirming their fifth studio album will be released later this year.

It comes after fans urged the band to take a break from their hectic tour schedule.

Confirming the news on Twitter, the band revealed: "It's official... #LM5 is actually in the works.. We're going to be patiently waiting for this one, it's going to be an absolute dream!"

One devoted follower replied: "Please don't rush it and let them put their signature touch on it."

Another put: "I AM SO EXCITED! The girls always go above and beyond when it comes to working on albums. I cannot wait to hear the new sound!"

A third simply insisted: "It better be worth the wait."

Leigh-Anne Pinnock had previously said in an interview: "We have the new album coming out this year which is really exciting."

Today's announcement comes after singer Raye accidentally revealed the news in January.

Speaking to the Daily Star about her upcoming songwriting work, she said: "The Little Mix album, I've been writing for that."

Fans became concerned last November when Jade lost her voice during their Glory Days tour - prompting calls for a hiatus.

The #GiveLittleMixARest hashtag was started by fans after they became concerned that the girl’s hectic work schedules was taking its toll on their voice.

Claiming they were “overworked”, a second hashtag #GiveLittleMixABreak was also trending by the end of the day as fans became concerned they weren’t able to hit their high notes due to exhaustion.
