GRAHAM Foster's secret has finally been revealed in Emmerdale and it's more shocking than viewers could have imagined.
The mysterious hardman in a suit - who is played by actor Andrew Scarborough in the ITV soap - has confessed that he is a recovering alcoholic who killed both his wife and their daughter in a car crash caused by him downing a bottle of whiskey.
Viewers reeled as they finally learned the truth about Graham's past and his connection to Joseph Tate after months of build up.
Trying to get Debbie Dingle to forgive Joe and get back together with the scheming millionaire who tried to destroy her and her family, Graham opened up about his own ordeal.
He told Debbie: "You're the first person I've told that I killed my wife and didn't even love her."
Earlier Graham revealed how he ended up working at the school Joseph was attended before Zoe Tate asked him to become his guardian to keep him from being kicked out.
He told her: "I worked at the school, well I say worked, I was drunk most of the time but I was ex service so the head was too embarrassed to sack me.
"It started in the army, you worked hard, you played hard, occupational hazard.
"Then I met a girl, got her pregnant. She was kind and sweet and her parents were delighted so I did the decent thing.
"I got leave for the birth, her friends were doing a baby thing, party, and Cheryl, my wife, made me drive her so I could meet all the girls.
"I was dreading it, I was fond of her but not enough. So I dropped her off, went to the pub and worked my way through a bottle of whiskey.
"She knew I was drunk, she was used to it but she didn't want to make a scene so she got in the car with these presents and balloons, all in pink. The baby was a girl.
"I lost control on a bend, turned the car over, killed outright, both of them.
"I think of her when I'm with Sarah, that's why... The army discharged me, I found the groundsmen's job, I swept leaves, burnt rubbish.
"One night I set my hut on fire to... it was Joe who found me and pulled me out. We told the school it was an accident."
The heartbreaking reveal had viewers sobbing for Graham.
