What does the Sony/Disney split mean for Spider-Man?

Endless financial disagreements means Spider-Man films will most likely make an exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leaving the films completely in the hands of Sony.

Previously, Disney had agreed that it would take 5% of the “first dollar” profits, along with all of the merchandising revenue.

Sony didn't agree to the new deal and now some fans are planning to boycott the next film, while other are calling for Tom Holland to quit the role unless Disney remain involved.
