Movies to watch before Infinity War – from Black Panther to Iron Man, all the Marvel films to see in order

AVENGERS: Infinity War promises to be the culmination of every Marvel movie which has been released since the first Iron Man in 2008.
Over the past decade, these movies have become ever-more interlinked so for any newcomers wanting to enjoy the best of Infinity War, here's the order you should watch them in...
Phase One
Phase One is the only confusing order in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe as there are potentially two different orders you can watch the series in.
Some fans prefer to watch the films in chronological order in which case they start with Captain America in 1942.
For simplicity's sake, the following films will be set in release order as it helps with the post-credits scenes and was the intended vision of producer Kevin Feige.
- Iron Man (2008)
- The Incredible Hulk (2008)
- Iron Man 2 (2010)
- Thor (2011)
- Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
- Avengers Assemble (2012)
Phase Two
Unusually, phase two stands out as being the only one that doesn't end with an Avengers flick as 2015's Ant-Man followed the Avengers sequel.
Phase two included some of Marvel's most profitable films with Iron Man 3 and Age of Ultron grossing almost $3billion combined.
- Iron Man 3 (2013)
- Thor: The Dark World (2013)
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
- Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
- Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
- Ant-Man (2015)
Phase Three
Phase three is arguably where Marvel really hits its stride in storytelling with the most successfully reviewed Thor film in the franchise, and a career revival for Spider-Man.
2018's Black Panther also shattered box-office expectations and became the fifth-highest grossing movie of ALL time.
- Captain America: Civil War (2016)
- Doctor Strange (2016)
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 (2017)
- Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
- Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
- Black Panther (2018)
- Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
