Benidorm’s Sherrie Hewson, Jake Canuso, Tony Maudsley to star on live theatre tour of hit show as tickets go on sale
A theatre production of the ITV series is set to tour the UK from September and will run into April next year

A BENIDORM live tour is set to take place in theatres across the country later this year.
The stage production is likely to delight fans when it kicks off at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle on September 7.
The production will then move on to various other locations in the UK with tickets being on sale now and dates running into April next year.
News of the show was kept quiet but a message was posted on the ‘benidormstage’ Twitter account after series 10 ended on television this week.
It read: “As the sun set on series 10 last night, it rises again on a brand new live theatre show!
“Don’t miss your chance to see your favourite stars from the @ITV show LIVE ON STAGE!

The live show will feature actors and actresses Jake Canuso (who plays Mateo), Janine Duvitski (Jacqueline), Adam Gillen (Liam), Sherrie Hewson (Joyce Temple-Savage), Shelly Longworth (Sam) and Tony Maudsley (Kenneth).
A description on the production’s website read: “Derren Litten’s smash-hit ITV comedy BENIDORM is set to bring sunshine and smiles to the UK and Ireland in the stage debut production of the hugely popular TV show.
“ITV’s award-winning comedy celebrates over a decade of all-inclusive hilarity, having followed the ensemble cast of holiday makers and staff for 10 series since it first broadcast in 2007.
“Litten has now written an all new set of Alicante escapades for the much-loved cast members as they swap sangria for the stage – after a quick spruce up at the Blow n’ Go!”
Derren said: “I am blown away by the reaction to the Benidorm Live tour and so thrilled that we will be visiting more cities so even more people can enjoy the madness I’ve prepared!
“This is like an exclusive, extended live action episode of Benidorm you can only see if you come to the theatre, it’s also the nearest you’ll get to going on holiday with the cast!”
It was recently reported that the last series of Benidorm would be the final one to air.
However, creator Darren has said that may not be the case, although he’s not yet entirely sure.
He tweeted a message ahead of the final episode of series 10 which left fans wondering if Benidorm would be back.
Derren told BBC WM that his message was “the kind of tweet I’ve done every year” and “somebody said the last episode ever and I didn’t put that”.
He added: “Obviously it’s a case of mistaken identity but when people said, ‘This is the last episode ever,’ I’ve got to admit I didn’t correct them.”
But when asked if it will definitely return, he said: “The honest truth is I don’t know.”
