STRICTLY bosses have booked Steps star Faye Tozer for this year’s series — even though she has years of experience as a dancer.
Faye, 42, shot to fame in the 1990s as part of the five-piece — known as much for their energetic choreography as hits such as Stomp and Tragedy.
But she has also been in several stage shows including Singin’ in the Rain, Over the Rainbow and Tell Me on a Sunday.
Her CV says she is experienced in several dance styles including ballet, ballroom, burlesque, salsa and tap.
The BBC show is criticised every year for booking stars with extensive dance experience.
But a TV insider said: “Few in the past have had quite so much professional performance time as Faye.

“Everyone expects her to be a strong contender but it will raise more questions over whether it’s fair for someone who has danced professionally to be up against people with no experience.”
Former pro Brendan Cole has previously said the show should adopt a golf-style handicap system so those with experience do not have an advantage. Strictly did not comment.
