Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery reunites with Dan Stevens and Allan Leech ahead of movie starting filming
DOWNTON Abbey fans were given three reasons to smile as a trio of cast mates reunited for a social media snap.
Lady Mary herself, 36-year-old actress Michelle Dockery, was the rose between two rather handsome thorns as she posed for an Instagram snap alongside dashing 35-year-old Dan Stevens and chipper Irish actor Allen Leech, 37.
Both Dan and Michelle uploaded the photo of the three of them beaming away on to their respective Instagram feeds – with Michelle simply captioning the photo: “Dorks”.
Dan – who played doomed husband of Lady Mary, Matthew Crawley – teased he might make an appearance in the upcoming Downton Abbey movie.
Posing in the photo with an impressive moustache, Dan asked: “Should Matthew have a mustache for the #DowntonAbbeyMovie...? Vote below…”
Fans were thrown into a frenzy of excitement by the suggestion, with one replying: “Is......is Matthew coming back from the dead?”
Meanwhile, Allen – who played chauffer turned Estate Manager Tom Branson on the ITV period drama – shared a different photo on his own Instagram feed.
Posing alongside Michelle, the Irish actor wrote: “Look who’s in LA! The Dockmiester General. Soon to be my sister-in-law again. #backtotheabbey.”
Fans have been gagging for a Downton Abbey film to be released since the show reached its climax in 2015 after six seasons and 52 episodes.
Since the show ended, Michelle has continued to enjoy TV work in gritty drama series Good Behaviour.
Meanwhile Dan (who saw his character killed off Downton in 2012) has enjoyed leading roles in big screen smashes – including Disney’s live action version of Beauty and the Beast.
He has also found success in the critically acclaimed X-Men TV series Legion which airs on FX in America and was recently renewed for a third season.

While Allen will soon be seen in the Freddie Mercury biopic movie, Bohemian Rhapsody.
The film continuation of Downton Abbey is expected to hit cinemas in 2019.
