What is Virgin Radio and when was it launched?
Virgin Radio UK is a national radio station owned by Wireless, which was acquired by News UK in 2016.
The station originally launched in 1993 and was rebranded as Absolute Radio (now owned by Bauer Media) in 2008.
The first show of the new look station was broadcast at 11am on March 30, 2016, from a Virgin Train by Edith Bowman and Matt Richardson.
The first song played was a live cover version of David Bowie's Changes.
According to the latest figures, Virgin Radio now boasts 413,000 listeners a week, tuning in for a total of 1,543,000 hours.
What time is Chris Evans' Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio?
Chris Evans returned to Virgin Radio on Monday, January 21, 2019, where he hosts the weekday Breakfast Show from 6.30am - 10am.
He launched his new show with a little help from his wife Natasha Shishmanian and their sons Noah and Eli.
Chris Evans, 52, spent 13 years at Radio 2 but stunned listeners on September 3, 2018, when he said he was stepping down to start a “new adventure”.
He said he “loved every minute” working on the flagship show but has now revealed he is going back to his “spiritual home” at Virgin.

He previously hosted the Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio between 1997 and 2001 and will be joining the station for the third time.
Speaking about his new appointment, he said: “In many ways Virgin Radio is my spiritual home.
“I see nothing but exciting and groundbreaking opportunities ahead.
“In a medium that is changing so quickly on a daily basis, the potential for growth is unprecedented.
“Our plan is: to give it all we’ve got, see where we can get to and have the most possible fun along the way. It makes me smile every time I think about it.”
