What happened to Dalton on The X Factor?

The aspiring singer flew over from the Caribbean for his chance to impress the judges.

In his audition, he sang Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word by Elton John.

Dalton said he'd been preparing for the audition for seven years and described it as the most important moment of his life so far.

Not only did the singer secure four yeses, but he also got a huge hug from Ayda and Louis following his performance.

In his audition, Dalton said: “I grew up in a one-room house without electricity or running water, but it’s not a sad story. It’s how I came out of it and I’m triumphant.”

Dalton sailed through the rounds of The X Factor.

The hopeful performer then made it through the Six Chairs Challenge and the Judges' Houses for which he sang Listen from Dreamgirls.

Louis was impressed by Dalton and said: "What was so incredible, aside from the unbelievable vocal, was the whole story you told us.

"I will never listen to that song the same way ever again."

Dalton went on to win the coveted record deal in the singing final after an incredible performance with James Arthur.

The singer is now favourite for the Christmas Number One spot, with his version of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's hit track The Power Of Love.
