The 43-year-old actor and the legendary director will work on their sixth film together when they re-team for this upcoming motion picture, which is based on the best-selling book by David Grann.
Scorsese said in a statement: "When I read David Grann's book, I immediately started seeing it - the people, the settings, the action - and I knew that I had to make it into a movie.
"I'm so excited to be working with Eric Roth and reuniting with Leo DiCaprio to bring this truly unsettling American story to the screen."
DiCaprio and Scorsese last teamed up on 2013's The Wolf of Wall Street.
The movie is likely to be released at the end of 2019 or early 2020.

What is the David Grann book about?
The book was released in 2017 and it investigates a series of murders of wealthy Osage people that took place in Osage County, Oklahoma in the early 1920s - after big oil deposits were discovered beneath their land.
Officially, the count of the murdered full-blood wealthy Osage native Americans reaches at least 20, but Grann suspects that hundreds more may have been killed because of their ties to oil.
The book reports cattleman William Hale as the mastermind standing behind the murders and presents detailed evidence.
