Kem Cetinay hints he could get back together with ex Amber Davies and reveals they’re in touch for first time since split
KEM Cetinay has admitted he could rekindle his relationship with ex-girlfriend Amber Davies – after the pair buried their bitter feud for the first time since splitting.
The Love Island winners ended their romance just 132 days after leaving the villa – with Kem now revealing he hasn’t liked anyone or enjoyed dating post-Amber.
Essex hunk Kem, 22, who’s replaced Jordan Banjo as the digital reporter for Dancing on Ice this year, says him and Amber are finally on good terms after he used work as a focus in the wake of their breakup.
In an exclusive interview he said: “I’m not dating anyone – I haven’t for a long while. I can’t remember the last time I went on a date.
“I haven’t been on a date with anyone I’ve actually liked since I was with Amber and that’s honestly the truth.
“Not because I don’t want to but before Love Island I never had a girlfriend and then on the show I was put into a situation where it just happened and even though it didn’t work out it was such a big thing for me.
“But Amber and I are actually on really good terms now. We’ve been speaking a bit recently. For the first ever we’ve been able to message and be friendly – finally there’s no bitterness at all.
“I know I’ve said a lot of times that we’ve got on but the honest truth is this is the first time now we genuinely are in a good place with each other.”
When asked if there’s a chance him and Amber may connect romantically again in the future, Kem said: “A lot has happened and we both only have nice things to say about to each other – you never know. Never say never.”
Since rising to fame Kem has competed on Dancing on Ice, presented The Brit Awards red carpet and starred in ITV2 series You vs Chris and Kem.
And now the former hairdresser has admitted his way of coping with heartbreak was to prioritise his TV work – as he reveals for the first time that Amber struggled with him falling silent.
He said: "Amber said to me she found it quite hard during our breakup that I hid myself away for a long time but that was my way of getting over it.
"I shut myself away and focused on work to take my mind off it. But I do feel in a lot better place now and she does too.
"I am nervous about putting myself in a situation again where I could get hurt – it has such an impact on yourself and your family."

Love Island 2018 winners Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer were accused of only getting back together days after splitting for the sake of their commercial and TV deals.
But Kem, who received a panicked phone call from Jack after the news of his breakup with Dani went public, has defended the pair saying: "Everyone should just get off their back."
He continued: "I remember when they split Jack rang me and I felt sorry for him – he didn’t know what to do.
"They were trying to work on their relationship and everyone had their opinions but I told Jack to do what makes you happy.
"It’s like a vicious circle, if you try to act a certain way and post loved-up pictures then you look fake and everyone jumps down your throat even more."
