STUNNED Olivia Colman broke down in tears as she won the Best Actress Oscar last night for The Favourite.
The British actress, 45, had the star-studded audience in giggles as she accepted the award, triumphing over her idol Glenn Close.

Taking to the stage, Olivia - who starred in the period drama alongside Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz - said: "It's genuinely quite stressful. This is hilarious. I've got an Oscar. I have to thank lots of people. If I forget you I'm going to find you later and give you a massive snog.
"Emma [Stone] and Rachel [Weisz] are the two loveliest girls in the world to fall in love with.
"Glenn Close you've been my idol for so long. This isn't how I wanted it to be.
"My kids are watching at home. I hope they are - this isn't going to happen again.

The Best Picture prize went to Green Book, topping off a successful night for the road trip drama, while Best Director was received by Alfonso Cuaron for his work on Roma.
Bohemian Rhapsody was the most successful film overall, scooping four gongs to Black Panther's three.
The Best Actor gong went to Rami Malek for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Accepting his award, the tearful star said: "Oh my God. My mom is in here somewhere. I love you, lady.
"My family thank you for all of this. My dad didn't get to see me do any of this, but I think he's looking down on me right now. It's a monumental moment."
"Thank you, Queen, for allowing me to be the tiniest part of your legacy. I'm forever in your debt."
Lady Gaga burst into tears when Shallow won Best Original Song.
She collected the award alongside Mark Ronson after performing a sizzling version of the track with Bradley Cooper.
"I've worked hard for a long time," she said. "It's not about winning but it's about not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it.
"It's not about how many times you get rejected and are beaten up, it's about how many times you stand up and are brave and keep on going."

Oscars 2019: Mahershala Ali wins Best Supporting Actor for his role as Dr. Don Shirley in Green Book
Daniel Craig and Charlize Theron presented the Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role.
The tough category was won by Mahershala Ali for his role as musician Don Shirley in Green Book.
Accepting the gong, he said: "I want to thank Doctor Shirley. For trying to capture his essence pushed me to my ends, which is a reflection of the person he was and the life he lived.
"I thank my partner Viggo [Mortensen], it was extraordinary working with you.
"Peter Farrelly, I thank you for your leadership and guidance and giving us space to work it out.
"I want to dedicate this to my grandmother who has been in my ear my entire life telling me if at first I don't succeed try and try again."

Oscars 2019: Regina King wins Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Sharon Rivers in If Beale Street Could Talk
Queen and Adam Lambert kicked off the show in style performing classic anthem We Are The Champions backed by the late Freddie Mercury on the big screen.
In the absence of a host, Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler delivered a series of well-received gags to begin the ceremony - even taking a pop at US President Donald Trump and his desire to make Mexico pay for the border wall.
Regina King picked up the first award of the night for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk.
She gave a tearful acceptance speech for her first Academy Award, paying tribute to the stars she beat.

Spike Lee leapt into Samuel L Jackson's arms when he won Best Adapted Screenplay for BlacKKKlansman.
In an impassioned speech, he said: "Let's mobilise and be on the right side of history. Make the moral choice between love and hate. Let's do the right thing."
Green Book picked up Original Screenplay.
Animated Feature Film went into the groundbreaking Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse, while Best Animated Short went to Bao.
Best Documentary Feature was up next and went to Free Solo, while Vice won Make-up And Hairstyling for Christian Bale's dramatic transformation into Dick Cheney.
Black Panther scooped Production Design, Costume Design and Original Score.
Roma picked up the Cinematography and Foreign Language Film gongs with director Alfonso Cuaron collecting the prizes.
Space race drama First Man scooped the Visual Effects after recreating the moon landing.
Bohemian Rhapsody landed a triple in the Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Film Editing categories, with the music of Queen very much at the centre of the film.
