Oscars 2019: Piers Morgan slams Billy Porter’s show-stealing tuxedo dress calling it ‘ridiculous’
Billy topped Best Dressed lists across the board in his attention-grabbing outfit, but Piers was not amused
PIERS Morgan has slammed Billy Porter's show-stealing tuxedo dress at tonight's Academy Awards, dubbing the attention-grabbing outfit "ridiculous".
Billy, 49, wowed fans and critics alike when he stepped out in a custom velvet tuxedo gown, designed by Christian Siriano, earlier this evening.

Despite Billy topping Best Dressed lists across the board, 53-year-old Piers was less than impressed, taking to Twitter to share his opinion on the piece.
Tweeting a photo of the American Horror Story actor and stage performer, the Good Morning Britain host wrote: "Am I allowed to say this looks absolutely ridiculous?"
When one fan replied: "Billy Porter can (and does) wear whatever he damn well pleases.", Piers hit back: "Of course, just as I can (and do) say what I damn well please."
Another follower tweeted Piers: "Of course. You're entitled to your fashion taste, as the rest of the world is theirs.

"And I suspect broad consensus will be that #BillyPorter looks ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT. Slay. #Oscars".
The outspoken TV personality retweeted the message, adding: "I wouldn’t bet your house on it ..." alongside two crying-with-laughter emojis.
While the majority of Piers' followers disagreed with his comments, some voiced their agreement.

One wrote: "Was wondering where I left my toilet roll cover."
Another tweeted: "Thank God someone said that."
Earlier tonight, Billy - who previously won a Tony Award and a Grammy for his performance in Kinky Boots - shared a photo of his dramatic outfit to his Instagram page alongside the caption: "When you come to the Oscars, you must dress up.

Despite slamming Billy, Piers wasn't entirely negative about the stars' red carpet looks this evening - with Lady Gaga winning his praise later on in the evening.
Sharing a photo of the Best Actress nominee, Piers wrote: "Lady Gaga steals the #Oscars red carpet in a very classy dress & the legendary Tiffany $50m diamond necklace once worn by Audrey Hepburn."
