STEPHEN Bear has claimed he donated £50,000 to an elephant charity - but fans don't believe him.
The reality star, 29, told his Instagram followers he'd "adopted a new best friend" and shelled out the substantial cash sum to help with his pal's upkeep.
Yet dozens of people questioned his honesty and wondered if he had, in fact, mixed up sterling with Thai Bart.
One insisted he'd handed over 50k in Thai currency - which converts to a much lower donation of £1,192.
Bear captioned a video of elephant Rocky: "Today I donated £50,000 to the elephant sanctuary and adopted my new best friend .
"I’ve named him Rocky because he’s a little fighter."
And one cheeky fan wrote beneath his post: "50p mayb"
Another said: "50k local money? U didn’t donate 50k English money or you wouldn’t keep filling timelines with pointless products that don’t work"
Another follower begged: "Lend me a tenner! Lol"
However, many people praised his generosity and loved reading about his good deed.
One fan mused: "Why are people so negative, even if he donated £10 does it matter he’s in an elephant sanctuary raising awareness on animal cruelty & helping them?"
Another said: "This is actually the best thing ever" and one more wrote: "Love this brilliant news"
The Sun Online has contacted Stephen's reps for comment.
