Foul-mouthed Gordon Ramsay lands his first ever prime-time BBC show, with budding restaurateurs battling for his affections

BOSSES at the BBC had better get their bleepers at the ready, as they’ve hired the world’s sweariest chef.
I can reveal Gordon Ramsay is heading to the broadcaster to front his own cookery contest, which will follow his search for the next big thing in the culinary world.
The series, which has the working title Step Up To The Plate, would be his first solo project on the Beeb despite huge success with rivals Channel 4 and ITV.
Producers are looking for contestants for the prime-time show, who have the “seed” of an innovative cookery idea to pitch to Gordon. A TV source said: “It’s a great coup for the BBC to pinch Gordon from its rivals.
“The show is in its very early stages, but everyone hopes it can go from a pilot to a full series.
“Gordon is hugely popular with audiences and a household name with unrivalled knowledge of the industry.
“They want chefs, restaurateurs or someone developing the next big food or drink product to apply now.”
Gordon has appeared on various BBC shows over the years, including Top Gear and his daughter Matilda’s CBBC show.
His most recent work on British telly was Gordon Ramsay On Cocaine, and the very funny Gordon, Gino & Fred’s Road Trip with Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix.
A mash-up of those two shows would be lively.

Vic rape ordeal twist
VIEWERS were left shocked this week when Victoria Sugden’s rape was aired before the watershed on ITV’s Emmerdale.
But things don’t appear to let up when it comes to dark and gritty storylines in the show’s latest solemn twist.
I can reveal Victoria, played by Isabel Hodgkins, will find out she is pregnant and decide to keep the baby after evil Lee, played by Kris Mochrie, attacked her.
But fans can expect a tiny ray of light to emerge from the rape after she decides to give the baby to gay couple Robert and Aaron.
A source said: “Victoria makes the tough call to keep the baby and she hopes that Robert and Aaron will take it.
“It’s a bittersweet act that will hopefully bring some happiness to viewers who have the seen couple chase their parenthood dreams.”
A Pearce of history
A LONG line of famous faces has been revealed for BBC1’s new adaptation of A Christmas Carol — with Australian hunk Guy Pearce topping the bill.
The Neighbours turned Hollywood actor will play Ebenezer Scrooge in this new version of the Charles Dickens novel.
He will be joined by Line Of Duty’s Stephen Graham, The Lord Of The Rings actor Andy Serkis and Wuthering Heights’ beauty Charlotte Riley.
The three-parter, which is even darker than the original ghost classic, comes from top writer Steven Knight, who gave us Peaky Blinders and Taboo.
A Christmas Carol, also produced by Tom Hardy and Sir Ridley Scott, will air this festive season.
With that many stars, it will be 2020 when the credits finish rolling.

Taliban trip for SAS Fox
SPECIAL Forces tough guy Jason Fox is visiting some old foes for his latest hard-hitting Channel 4 series.
The SAS: Who Dares Wins instructor will go toe-to-toe with Taliban commanders as part of a new programme called Return To Afghanistan With Jason Fox – ten years after he served there.
In an exclusive interview, he said: “It’s a personal journey. The reason I wanted to go is because Afghanistan has had a massive impact on me. I both love it and hate it.”
He added: “I spoke to a Taliban commander and I was quite nervous going into that as obviously we’re going into their back yard.
“He didn’t know that I was an ex-British soldier but I did drop it in at the end of the chat to see his reaction. You’ll have to wait and see.”
At least he came out the other side in one piece.
