Liar series two pictures see Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt and Amy Nuttall film together for first time
The ITV drama will return in the Autumn of 2019, two years after it first aired
JOANNE Froggatt and Amy Nuttall have started filming series two of Liar together.
The duo worked together on Downton Abbey, and have recently reunited to film new episodes of the upcoming drama, which first aired in 2007.
Joanne will reprise the role of teacher Laura Neilson and has been pictured on set of the production with Amy.
The pair were pictured hugging tightly on the beach, while a separate shot sees them looking out to the distance as a police woman walks past the cordoned off section.
A separate image captures Amy - who plays housemaid Ethel Parks in the BBC One period show - looking teary as she talks to Joanne - who portrayed Anna Bates in Downton Abbey - in what appears to be a heated conversation.
Another snap pictures Amy on the phone as she is surrounded by film crew and police.
Although Amy is familiar with being on the small screen this will be her first appearance in Liar.
Amy will play a mystery role in the forthcoming series, which will follow on from the murder of rapist Andrew Earlham.
In the last series Joanne's character met Andrew (Ioan Gruffudd) in a bar, but after the night out she realised she had been drugged and raped by the doctor.
But viewers questioned who was telling the truth at first.
The plot thickened when Laura realised she was teaching her rapist's son.
By the end of the series Laura discovered evidence proving Andrew was a serial rapist, and had sexually assaulted 19 women after she found video footage of his attacks.
An altercation in the marshes between Andrew and Laura ensued, before the surgeon's body was found in the marshes.

And the new run will focus on who killed him.
After two years, the highly anticipated second season of Liar is set to return.
While an official release date has yet to be announced it is said to hit our screens in Autumn 2019.
