BRITAIN’S Got Talent is facing an Ofcom investigation after viewers complained about The Haunting's terrifying performance which led to Amanda Holden swearing live on air.

The judge blurted out the F-word during last night's semi-final after being chosen to take part in the spooky act – and 192 fans have since complained to the regulator about it, The Sun Online can reveal.

An Ofcom spokesperson revealed that 154 people complained about Elizabeth's act being too scary, while 38 were not impressed with Amanda's foul mouthed slip up.

They said: “We are assessing these complaints against our broadcasting rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate.”

During last night’s show Amanda issued an apology for dropping the F-bomb.

She said: "I really want to apologise for saying a terrible word. I know my kids are watching so I apologise for that. I can honestly say I feel terrified."

Hosts Ant and Dec also apologised for the language as did Simon Cowell, who lavished praise on the performance.

He cheekily added about Amanda's screaming: "It was like being next door to you on your honeymoon night."

The act began by Amanda being led backstage where she met the ghost of a mysterious woman called Agatha and her 11-year-old daughter.

The spooky apparition sang Rock-A-Bye Baby as Amanda stared into a mirror that suddenly shattered.

Agatha walked through and the lights went out, causing Amanda to swear.

When the lights returned Agatha began leading Amanda back to the stage, however, at the top of some steps Agatha transformed into Elizabeth.

She begged the ghosts not to hurt her, and did manage to make it back to her chair.

It’s not the first time Amanda has sparked an Ofcom investigation – back in 2017 her low-cut dress from the BGT final received 663 complaints.

Amanda's dress, designed by Julien Macdonald, shocked viewers of the family show due to its plunging neckline, and it also had an equally low-cut back.

The star joked before putting it on for the live episode: "Will people be complaining to Ofcom? I hope so, I really do."
