Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis rules out Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper secret festival performance

GLASTONBURY boss Emily Eavis has shut down rumours Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga will perform a secret Star Is Born set together this weekend.
Fans went wild after radio DJ Edith Bowman hinted that the Hollywood stars were performing at the legendary music festival during her recent appearance on Sunday Brunch.
But festival chief Emily set the record straight yesterday, tweeting: "Before this one gets out of control... the answer is no, that isn’t happening.
"(Although you can watch the amazing A Star Is Born in our Pilton Palais cinema tent at 4.30pm on Friday.)"
Edith later apologised for sending the rumour mill into overdrive, writing: "So sorry this has grown arms and legs. Blame Mr Cooper."
The radio DJ teased she had a good idea of one of this year's secret acts after Bradley appeared on her podcast.
Discussing the festival with hosts Tim Loveyjoy and Simon Rimmer, she said: "I may know one [surprise act], I can't possibly say.
"On my podcast I had Bradley Cooper talking about A Star is Born, and when I spoke to him I was like 'I just want to see you guys do a gig, you know play it live'.
"He was like 'well we have been talking to Nick (Dewey) and Emily Eavis about it, we'd do the Park Stage' and I said 'that would be amazing!' Bradley Cooper and Gaga doing the Park Stage."
Bradley is no stranger to the festival having been pictured hanging out at Worthy Farm site in the past and he even shot a scene from A Star Is Born at the festival, with his character Jackson Maine performing on the Pyramid Stage.
On the official festival listing there are currently two spots still to be announced on the Park Stage - 11.30am to 12.10pm and 6.15pm to 7.15pm, both on the Saturday.
There's further opportunity for a surprise appearance given Jackson Maine's band - Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real - are performing on the same stage on Friday from 3.15pm.
Earlier this month The Sun Online exclusively revealed how Bradley and Gaga are constantly speaking to each other after his split from Irina but they won't strike up a romance, according to a pal.
The insider said Bradley would find it too disrespectful to his ex to be anymore than friends with Gaga.
They explained: “There’s no way Gaga and Bradley will get together.
“Not now – they’re really good friends and still speak all the time, but it’s not his style to jump into another relationship straight away. Especially after all the rumours about them during A Star Is Born. He wouldn’t do that.”
The pressure surrounding the pair recently peaked as Gaga blasted her fans while on stage after they heckled her by asking where Bradley was – just days after his split.
The singer was performing in Las Vegas on Saturday night when she lost her rag with the taunts, amid speculation Gaga’s chemistry with her A Star Is Born co-star played a factor in his break-up.
Before performing Shallow, the break-out hit from the film, she told the crowd: “And one more thing, be kind or f**k off.”
In February, Gaga confirmed she’d ended her engagement to music mogul Christian Carino after two years together.
Last week, model Irina moved out of the home she shared with Bradley.
They had been together for four years and have a two-year-old daughter together.
Gaga and Bradley gave a sizzling performance of Shallow in Las Vegas in January and again at the Oscars in February, with fans admitting they thought the co-stars had “amazing chemistry”.
Their close friendship seemed to cause an issue with Irina, who unfollowed Gaga on Twitter.
Irina had kept a low profile after the break-up but over the weekend posted pictures from her new fashion campaign shoot in Iceland.
Gaga has always insisted she is just good friends with Bradley.
Referring to their sensual Oscars performance, she said: “Yes, people saw love.
"And guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see.”
