Judi Dench defends ‘sex predators’ Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey and urges the public to stop airbrushing them from history

DAME Judi Dench says people should still enjoy the work of alleged sexual predator Kevin Spacey, saying: “You cannot deny somebody a talent.”
The actress, 84, also said viewers should not boycott pal Harvey Weinstein’s films despite “horrifying” allegations against him.
She credits the shamed movie mogul with helping her crack America, while Spacey supported her following the loss of husband Michael Williams in 2011.
In an interview with the Radio Times, she spoke of Spacey’s “agony” at his career being on hold during court proceedings over claims he groped a boy.
She added: “Are we going to negate ten years at the Old Vic and everything that he did [as artistic director] or how wonderful he’s been in all those films?
“Are we just not going to see all those films Harvey produced? You cannot deny somebody a talent.”

Dame Judi went on to suggest those who snub their work should not look at the works of artist Caravaggio, who was convicted of murder.
As the #MeToo movement emerged in 2017, she said she was unaware of Weinstein’s alleged offences and offered “wholehearted support” to those who spoke out.
Both Spacey, 59, and Weinstein, 67, deny allegations against them.
