Love Island sign up hunky footballer Dennon Lewis to enter Casa Amor – six months after being racially abused by his own fans

LOVE Island bosses have signed chiselled footballer Dennon Lewis for Casa Amor six months after he made headlines for being racially abused by his own fans.

The handsome striker, 22, will be looking to score with one of the girls when he makes his debut in Majorca and producers think he has what it takes to turn heads.

A source exclusively told The Sun Online: "Dennon's worked hard all season and can't wait to kickstart his summer in the villa.

"He's fit, athletic and charming and will ruffle plenty of feathers once he starts to mingle with the girls."

This year's starting Love Island line-up featured pro boxer Tommy Fury and semi-pro rugby player Sherif Lanre, who was axed for kicking Molly-Mae Hague in the privates before referring to it as a "c**t punt."

Joining Dennon in the second villa will be builder Dan Rose, who is looking to find love for the first time in a year.

The footballer made headlines last year when he was racially abused by his own fans while playing for Scottish Championship side Falkirk.

He was subjected to vile insults from a small section of travelling supporters at Stenhousemuir's Ochilview Park.

The London lad made his feelings clear on Instagram after the game, telling his followers: "I have never gone through a period like this in my life.

"From a footballing standpoint things are not going as planned for anyone involved at the club however from a personal standpoint never in a million years would I have expected to be subject to racial abuse from Falkirk fans.

"I understand the frustration and anger as a lover of football myself all you want is to see is your club do well.

"However for me this is a line crossed and the abuse received is disgusting.

"Whilst the future is unclear at this moment in time I am still a Falkirk player and will try to do my best for the team and support everyone involved with the club."

He added: "Finally I appreciate the messages received and I know this doesn't embody the Falkirk fans in its entirety.

"Please understand where I am coming from with this message and I know that I will not and cannot stand for this."

Dennon began his football career at Premier League side Watford's academy, signing a three-year professional deal aged 18.

But the talented player failed to break into the first team and was shipped out on loan to Woking and Crawley Town.

He made a permanent move to Falkirk last July but his time in Scotland was short-lived, with a move to Bromley following in January.

His latest transfer saw him sign for National League South side Wealdstone FC, whose boss Dean Brennan said: "We have tracked Dennon for the past few years, he is the type of player that will have our fans on the edge of their seats."
