The pair, who announced their split last weekend, looked distant as they met their new dance partners for the first time at the studios in London.
Katya and Neil were forced to work together just days after announcing their split and he was spotted in the background of her Instagram videos.
It was recently revealed both dancers would both be getting celebrity partners despite their controversy on the show last year.
The Russian pro, 29, and husband Neil yesterday confirmed their split on social media ten months after she was caught kissing comedian Seann Walsh.
Producers had planned to relegate her to reserve dancer when the new series starts as punishment for the 'Kissgate' scandal.
But they have now done a U-turn and will reinstate her into the main line-up with a celebrity partner.
Katya and fellow Strictly dancer Neil, 37, released a joint statement about their marriage split on their social media accounts on Sunday.
They said the decision was “mutual” and pledged to “keep working and dancing together as well as exploring individual projects”.
Earlier in the day the new stars of the show were seen arriving at the dance studio.

Among those were Jamie Laing, David James, Catherine Tyldesley and Mike Bushell.
Meanwhile, the pro dancers were busy getting ready too, with Oti Mabuse looking stunning in a beige off-the-shoulder top.
She was joined by Karen Clifton who looked edgy in black.
Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to our screens in September.
