Theodore Peter James Kinnaird Taptiklis, known professionally as Theo James, was born on December 16, 1984.
He made his TV debut in 2010 in A Passionate Woman and won a small role in the first season of Downton Abbey the same year.
However, the Hollywood star earned his big break featuring in the Divergent movies from 2014.
He reportedly performed his own stunts in the series.

His wife Ruth Kearney is also an actor, best know for her leading role as Jess Parker in the science fiction drama Primeval (2007).
Theo and Ruth tied the knot on August 25, 2018, at Islington Town Hall.
The couple met at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and have been in a relationship since 2009.

Theo was born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
He is of one-quarter Greek descent, with the rest of his heritage being English, Scottish and a tiny bit of German.
His paternal grandfather Nicholas Theodore Taptiklis was born in Greece, while his paternal grandmother Jean Dorothy was of one-quarter German ancestry.

The crime comedy has been one of the streaming giant’s biggest hits of 2024 so far — with a whopping 44 million views in its first month.
It is a spin-off series from the 2019 film of the same name — also created by Guy — which starred Matthew McConaughey.

Though his popularity came about from his role as Four in the Divergent film franchise, Theo had already starred in a number of films prior to becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought after actors.
His first major role came in 2011 when he played Jed Harper in the popular TV series Bedlam for six episodes.
The same year, Theo would go on to star in the hilarious comedy The Inbetweeners Movie, alongside a number of notable names such as Simon Bird, James Buckley and Blake Harrison.
The following year, Sony Pictures hired the Brit to play David in the thrilling Underworld Awakening, starring Kate Beckinsale and Michael Ealy.
While Theo wasn’t necessarily deemed as a lead character, the role gave him enough screen time for people to see that he was slowly but surely landing himself bigger and better roles - particularly in major blockbuster hits.

From there, Theo landed a string of major roles in shows such as Golden Boy, where he played Detective Walter Clark, before signing on for Divergent in 2014.
He reprised his role as David in the Underworld sequel Blood Wars in 2016, having also landed parts in movies such as London Fields, How It Ends, Lying And Stealing and The Benefactor.
In 2019, Theo was cast as Sidney Parker in the ITV series Sanditon alongside Kris Marshall and Kate Ashfield, which ran until 2022.
And in 2021, he appeared in HBO's black comedy series The White Lotus as Cameron Sullivan.
