Caddyshack star Bill Murray injured in four-vehicle smash day before golf tournament

CADDYSHACK star Bill Murray was injured in a four-vehicle smash today before a star-studded golf tournament at St Andrews in Scotland.
The Ghostbusters icon was spotted with a bandaged hand after the crash on Greyfriar’s Gardens in the Fife town.
The 69-year-old was in the passenger side of a Mercedes E Class when it collided with a Jeep, a Ford transit council van and a Citreon c4.
Cops were called to the scene around 12.55pm today after a 999 alert was raised.
Wearing a cowboy hat, Murray, who celebrated his birthday on Saturday, could be seen speaking to police officers in the street.
He later appeared at the Old Course and was clocked practising one-handed at a driving range.
One source said: “The cops turned up after the four vehicles were in a bit of a smash.
“There didn’t seem to be anyone who was seriously injured - they’ve had a lucky escape.”
Stars including singer Justin Timberlake and As Good as It Gets actor Greg Kinnear are in St Andrews to take on professionals at the Old Course as part of the The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Downton Abbey star Henry Talbot was also playing.
Another onlooker claimed Murray applied ice to his injured hand.
Tonight a Police Scotland spokesman confirmed the incident.

“The collision involved a Jeep, Mercedes E Class, a Ford transit van and a Citreon c4.
“No serious injuries were sustained.”
