LOVE Island's Curtis Pritchard has insisted his relationship with Maura Higgins is so strong it can beat the Dancing On Ice relationship 'curse'.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the 23-year-old star said she won’t be tempted by a sexy skating partner as their romance is still red-hot despite living in different countries.
Speaking ahead of the launch of his new Debenhams fashion range, Curtis told The Sun Online: "It's only a curse if you believe in it. I'm sure Maura will be fine."
Laughing, he added: "Fingers crossed."
However, the professional dancer warned that things aren't going to be easy for her on Dancing On Ice.
He said: "It's going to be a great experience, but it's going to put her through her paces.
"I don't think she realises how tough it's going to be, but she'll be incredible."
Speaking about their long-distance romance he said: "Things are going good. She's in Ireland and flies back tomorrow.
"I'm working here but we both understand. We do phone calls and messages. Distance often makes the heart grow fonder."
And when they get together it's actually Maura who dances for him.
He revealed: "Maura is actually an incredible dancer. She follows incredibly. She connects her arms to her body which connects to her legs and she's amazing."
Maura will join a glitzy line-up for Dancing On Ice including Michael Barrymore, H from Steps, Kevin Kilbane, Lucretzia Millano, Trisha Goddard, Caprice Bourret and Perry Kiely.
Last year's runner-up on the show Wes Nelson famously split from his girlfriend Megan Barton-Hanson after she became jealous of his closeness to his stunning skate partner Vanessa Bauer.
Another pro skater who caused controversy after falling for soap star contestants is Sylvain Longchambon.
He and Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe were together for around two years after being matched on the show, but he dumped her on Christmas Day.
He then went on to date his Coronation Street partner Samia Ghadie and the couple are now married with a baby.
Other ice relationships include football legend David Seaman marrying dancer Frankie Poultney after starring in the live tour together in 2008.
Dancer Brianne Delcourt had romances with Coronation Street's Danny Young, and was linked to EastEnders' Sam Attwater as well as dating Matt Lapinskas once the series ended.
Although Maura won't know her partner for a while yet, other skaters who could set off her famous 'fanny flutters' include Hamish Gaman, 35, Matt Evers, 41, Alexander Demetriou, 28, Lukasz Rozycki, 39, and Mark Hanretty.
Last night, Curtis was at the launch of Thorpe Park's Fright Nights - getting spooked alongside celebs including Katie Price and her ex Kris Boyson.
The star tried out a series of rides and live-action mazes including the creepy Creek Freak Massacre.
Speaking of his whirlwind experience since leaving the villa - and his collection with Debenhams, Curtis said: "I'm loving life right now. I've been very fortunate and lucky. Love Island changed my life.
"Working with Debenhams has been pretty surreal. I remember when my mum used to take me in when I was younger. So now I'm 23 years old and I'm actually still wearing their clothes.
"I love their stuff and I always had a dream to be on the billboards on the shop. So that is happening now for the autumn and winder collection.
"I'm doing for menswear, a suit, casual wear and denim too, loads of different looks. I'm so excited."
Curtis Pritchard is part of the Debenhams AW19 menswear tribe modelled by five familiar faces including David James, Greg Rutherford, Jamie Roberts and Wayne Bridge. The collection launches in-store and online from 30th September.
