Love Island star Jamie’s secret heartbreak after soldier pal died falling from building on lads’ holiday
THE secret heartbreak of Love Island's Jamie Clayton has been revealed following the tragic death of his best friend.
, 22, died after falling from a building on a lads' holiday in March 2015.
His death was initially feared to be a hit-and-run after being found lying in the street close to his hotel in Miami.
The Royal Scots Borderer had been travelling to a US music festival following a tour of Sierra Leone, Africa.
His real cause of death was eventually exposed when CCTV showed him falling from a building.
Paying tribute to his soldier pal at the time, Jamie said: "Heart is truly broken to have lost you mate, never experienced a loss before, and I am so gutted you were my first one.
"Never want to feel the pain I've felt today again, thank you for the laughs and smiles which I will remember forever. Love you mate xxx."
Sharing snaps of the 22-year-old, Jamie added: "Not a day goes by ma boy, what I'd do for a cuddle and a catch up mate honestly, miss you so much."
"Days like this are tougher than others - miss you from the bottom of my heart mate," he said.
Wishing Shaun a happy 27th birthday in June last year, Jamie wrote: "Big happy birthday to my guy. Am sure you were p***ing yourself at me last night.
"If only everyone could see half the stuff we got up to in our hay days love ya and party hard up there. 27 today but forever 22 xxx."
Recruitment consultant Jamie, 28, entered the Love Island villa last night and enjoyed dates with single girls Shaughna Phillps and Demi Jones.
The Scot - who is from Edinburgh but now lives in Manchester - already has both the girls falling at his feet.

Jess Phillips even admitted she was getting "hubby vibes" from him as she teased Shaughna about her feelings.
But Jamie admits he's pretty unsuccessful with any long term relationships, finding it hard to get past a first date.
In a teaser for tonight's show, the 28-year-old makes a move on both girls - telling Demi she's "met her match" and teasing Shaughna that her next boyfriend will be Scottish.
