While much of the villa appears the same, with the bedrooms, living area and balcony clearly in shot, the outside area appears to be getting an overhaul.

A building crew could be seen surrounded by planks of wood, scaffolding and various construction items as they carried out work in the Spanish sunshine.

Last year, the Love Island set received a dramatic overhaul before Dani Dyer, Jack Fincham and Megan Barton-Hanson entered the villa.

After the reality show's staggering success in 2017, bosses greenlit a fancy re-design that saw the home boast an enormous swimming pool, gym area and Jacuzzi.

The hideaway also got a makeover, tempting the fame-hungry stars to grab some time alone with their partners.

Outside seating and day beds were set up around the pool area as well as sun-loungers and an al-fresco bar for late-night drinks.

The iconic fire pit completed the outside area, where Caroline Flack hosted the re-couplings.

It is not yet known what changes are being made to the villa ahead of this year's series, which is expected to hit our screens in the coming weeks.

According to a fan account, things will kick off on Monday, June 3 with Caroline revealing just last week that she has already started filming for the show.

She said at the time: "What’s really exciting about this week is that we start filming for Love Island 2019.

"And by the end of the week I’m going to have potentially seen the cast for this year, which is really exciting and mad that it’s come around this quick."

Last night it was reported that the first confirmed contestant on this year's show had leaked online, with social media influencer Sav Berry said to be looking for love this summer.

It comes after The Sun Online exclusively revealed that show bosses were in advanced talks to sign Rochelle Humes’ lookalike sister for the new series.

Producers of the show are "desperate" for Soph Piper, 20, to join the line-up of singletons jetting off to Majorca this summer.

A source close to the programme told us that the beauty has received an official offer but is still yet to make a final decision.

We also revealed Big Brother bad boy Lotan Carter has been earmarked by bosses for the show.
