CURTIS Pritchard's dad has insisted that his son has done nothing wrong after he dumped devastated Amy Hart in Love Island.

But Adrian Pritchard has slammed his son's critics, claiming that Curtis would never purposefully set out to hurt another Islander.

He said: "Curtis would never want to hurt anybody.

"Both girls like him and he’s just enjoying himself."

Adrian continued to the : "Love Island is about meeting new people and seeing who you click with.

"It’s not fair for people to think he’s a love rat or a snake because he’s not that kind of person at all. He would never treat a girl badly."

He went on to insist that the Islander doesn't even know how to lie and that he is being his truest and most authentic self on the ITV2 dating show.

The proud father also said that Curtis dumping Amy was the right thing to do - and that they hadn't been together "that long".

Amy and Curtis coupled up during this series' very first episode, with the pair quickly going on to call each other "half boyfriend and girlfriend".

They were separated during the show's famous Casa Amor twist, and Amy was left heartbroken when she returned to the main villa ready to tell the star that she loved him only to be snubbed.

Curtis confessed that his head had been turned during their time apart, and that he'd have coupled up with Jourdan Riane instead of Amy given the chance.

When the blonde beauty suggested giving their relationship time, Curtis then brutally dumped her - eventually forcing Amy to quit the villa as she struggled to cope with the pain of their split.

Adrian added that he and Curtis' mum, Debi, stand by their son's actions, concluding with: "Any backlash will fade into insignificance. It’s a TV show, it's not real."

Love Island fans turned on the star last night when he appeared smug over the fact that two women are fighting for his affections.

Viewers took to Twitter to slam his "slimy" remarks, with one outraged fan tweeting: "He's pure cringe, and now is showing a kinda slime ball vibe, he’s lapping up these women vying for his attention, massive narcissist underneath his nice guy exterior."

Curtis' famous brother, Strictly Come Dancing's AJ Pritchard, previously defended the Islander amid the backlash - dismissing his romance with Amy as a "holiday romance".
