When does season four of Peaky Blinders start?

Season four of the hit drama concludes tonight with episode six TONIGHT, December 20, on BBC Two at 9pm.

Just like the previous series, there are six-hour long episodes in total.

And as ever, if you miss an episode and aren't signed up to Netflix, you should also be able to catch it on BBC iPlayer – provided you have a TV licence.

The BBC commissioned seasons four and five at the same time, so it shouldn't be too long until we get the fifth installment.

Currently, Netflix has seasons one and two of the hit show available to stream – the streaming service's air dates for seasons three and four are yet to be revealed.

What happens in season four of Peaky Blinders?

Cillian Murphy has confirmed a return as the leading man in the Birmingham based gangster show.

Steven Knight, the show's writer, has revealed his plans for the gang to reach the 1920s period - and see the fallout of the General Strike in 1926.

He revealed that he thought the time was a true "between the wars" story, as the city recovered from World War One with no knowledge of the impending World War Two.

The writer revealed: "I hope it does run and run all the way up to the Second World War, but it does get harder to get the cast together as the actors are being pulled into feature films. It’s a victim of its own success."

Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody is also set for a role in the BBC gangster drama.

Adrien, who bagged an Oscar for his role in 2002 movie The Pianist, was spotted filming in Liverpool flanked by security guards as bosses desperately tried to hide his involvement.

It's been announced that The Wire star Aiden Gillen will also be among the newest cast members of the hit show and is joined by his former co-star Charlie Murphy.

Their roles are being kept under wraps - but we can definitely expect fireworks!

Could there be a Peaky Blinders movie?

Series creator and writer Steven Knight and his executive producer Caryn Mandabach admitted there have been talks surrounding the possibility of a film spin-off.

But when questioned, Murphy told he was hesitant about committing.

He said: "I'm sort of ambivalent about it. I'm sort of like, 'Eh, yeah, I don't know, I'm not sure'.

"I love the idea sort of theoretically, but it has to come at the right time, you know? You can't alienate the beautiful democratic thing of television where everyone just watches it," he added.

"Cinema is trickier because you gotta pay your $10, you gotta leave the kids at home.

"You've got to do all of that, so it's different and also you have to compress the story into probably just an event rather than the whole arc that we've normally been doing.

"It's kind of a sexy idea, but I'll reserve judgement until the idea is presented to me."

Is Grace coming back to Peaky Blinders?

*WARNING: Spoilers ahead*

In episode three of series three, Grace was shot dead by an Italian gangster during the Shelby Foundation Ball.

The glamorous young mum was a former undercover police agent who posed as a barmaid while trying to gather intel on Tommy.

But she soon fell in love with him and it looked as though the pair were set for a lifetime of happiness together after tying the knot.

Her death was a brutal shock half way through the latest series after giving birth to a baby boy Charles.

It sparked suspicion from many fans who were hopeful the character could return in season 4.

Actress Annabelle Wallis said: "I have so many friends so obsessed with the show so I've had all these theories thrown my way of how: there's no funeral or he's done it to protect her.

"Some people are so devastated by her death that I've had to give them hope.

"So I'm just gonna go 'maybe' and hold onto my conspiracy theories."
