TK Maxx Christmas advert 2016 – when is it being released, what’s the song and where can I see it first?

THE festive season is almost upon us, and some retailers are already launching their Christmas campaigns.
One of the best shopping destinations for gifts and bargains is bound to be high-street store TK Maxx – and the retailer is releasing their seasonal advert sooner than you might expect.
When can I see the TK Maxx Christmas advert?
The festive promotion will be launched online tomorrow, with the TV advert following on Friday.
British telly lovers can catch a glimpse of the brand spanking new clip in the ITV ad break of Emmerdale, at approximately 19.15pm.
Another advert will be broadcast on Channel 4 during in between segments of popular television favourite Gogglebox.
What song features on the advert?
While it may look like the cast of the advert are about to burst into a traditional festive sing-song, the music that has been chosen is far quirkier.
Instead of a boring Christmas carol, the family break into an acapella version of Misirlou, a track that was used in iconic Tarantino film Pulp Fiction.
Viewers may also recognise the music as it features on Black Eyed Peas song Pump It.
What’s the campaign about?
The catchy advert is based around a festive singalong, but it isn’t any ordinary rendition.
Viewers will no doubt be surprised to see Grandma, the baby and even the trusty family dog joining in with the chorus.
Commenting on the campaign, Deborah Dolce, Group Brand and Marketing Director, at TK Maxx said: “We all remember the childhood fun of ripping open a present to find a fantastic surprise inside.
“We want to foster this long-standing Christmas tradition and so are encouraging shoppers to go ‘off list’ and handpick something different and delightful at TK Maxx.
“Our stores are packed with thousands upon thousands of imaginative and unique gifts for everyone in the family; we hope everyone gets the most for their money and spoils their loved ones with something surprising this Christmas.”
As Brits are getting into the festive spirits, many have started anticipating the adverts of other major retailers.
After the huge success of John Lewis' Half the World Away clip last year, Brits are desperate to feast their eyes on this year's video.
Last year, Sainsbury’s Mog the cat offering became a family favourite, but what will they be releasing this year?
Marks and Spencer are another company that always bring their Christmas A-game, and shoppers are already trying to guess which song they’ll choose to front this year’s campaign.
Some speedy brands have already launched their adverts for this year.
Luxury brand Burberry are among some the first to unveil their Christmassy promotions, and it’s safe to say that they’ve pulled out all the stops this year.
Like the ghost of fashion past, the advert delves into the designer’s history, focusing mainly on their founder.
Harrods have also brought their festive A-game, launching an adorable campaign based around the adorable protagonist Hugh the Bear.
