This M&S perfume smells just like Marc Jacobs Daisy but is £27 cheaper

Santa could be making some savings this Christmas

WANT to treat yourself to a nice perfume this festive season? It turns out that you don’t have to break the bank if you want to bag an expensive-smelling scent.

Beauty lovers from around the world believe that Marks & Spencer have released a product that smells almost identical to Marc Jacobs’ iconic perfume Daisy.

Anyone wanting to treat themselves on a 50ml bottle of Marc Jacobs’ Daisy will have to splurge around £35.

A 90ml bottle of M&S’ Butterfly retails for £14, meaning that shoppers can get their hands on this high-street option for around £7.75 per 50ml – a saving of around £27.

The design of the product even looks similar, with two butterflies topping M&S’ Butterfly option.

While the Marc Jacobs offering definitely looks more luxurious, it’s topped with two delicate daisies that are place on the bottle top in a similar style to the high-street alternative.

A number of savvy shoppers have taken to social media to advise other perfume lovers that they don’t need to splash out on the designer brand.

One online reviewer even revealed: “This perfume is just like another famous brands perfume but with the added bonus of being a fraction of the price! It’s a lovely perfume for day or night!”

Both brands claim that their product gives off a fresh and floral aroma, which is probably why the two scents have often been compared on social media.

The Marc Jacobs website describes Daisy as “an award-winning fragrance with fresh and feminine notes of wild strawberry, velvety violet petals and plus gardenia and jasmine.

“The white accords of birch and cedarwood add intensity.”

In comparison, M&S claim that Butterfly contains: “Fresh green notes of fruity apple, watery cucumber and zesty grapefruit drift to a smooth and delicate magnolia flower, rose and violet scents which are followed by rich base aromas of musks and amber.”

The online reviews of both products are overwhelmingly positive, with shoppers rating them both at an average of 4-5 stars.

It’s not the first time that a high-street scent has stunned the British public.

Last month, The Sun reported that a £4 Lidl perfume was praised as being “preferred” to Chanel’s cult Coco Mademoiselle scent.
