World Cup 2018: Southampton confirm Dusan Tadic will move to Ajax for £17.5m on July 1

The 29-year-old - who is currently on international duty with Serbia - has left the Saints after four years

DUSAN TADIC has agreed a four-year deal at Ajax after signing from Southampton for a fee believed to be in the region of £17.5million.

The 29-year-old is currently preparing for Serbia's Group E clash with Brazil later today, as he makes the move back to the Eredivisie.

Ajax Director of Football Marc Overmars said of the transfer: "The arrival of Dusan Tadic means a considerable quality impulse for our selection.

"He can be used in multiple positions, both on the midfield and in the front.

"His experience is also important for the many young talents we have in the selection.

"He is a 'winner of first class' and you would love to have that kind of player."

SunSport revealed recently that the Dutch giants were keen on bringing Tadic back to Holland.

Southampton could be set to immediately replace their former star, with the club poised to beat Leicester to the signing of Basel ace Mohamed Elyounoussi.

While Mark Hughes' side have also brought in midfielder Stuart Armstrong from Celtic in a deal worth £7million.
