Lount admits to cheering on England during Italia'90 but is listed by Fifa as a New Zealand official

COLOMBIA fans will hope officials stay fit for their last-16 showdown – after an ENGLISHMAN was appointed substitute linesman.
Leicester-born Simon Lount if officially listed by Fifa as an official from New Zealand, but he also holds a British passport.
Speaking to the , he previously admitted to cheering on Paul Gascoigne and Co at Italia'90 and did not expect to get any England games at Russia 2018.
And there will undoubtedly be questions raised by Colombians if the Lount, who used to have a season ticket at Leicester City, has any impact at all on Tuesday's World Cup clash in Moscow.
He ended up staying in New Zealand when he got lost while travelling 14 years ago.
Lount was looking for a ferry terminal when he asked a woman for directions – who he later bumped into again and started dating.

He ended up marrying Sarah and the couple now having two children together.
Lount now works for a company that supply furniture fitting and architectural hardware around his work as a ref.
He is unlikely to see any action on Tuesday, unless an official gets injured, but is part of the support cast to main man Mark Geiger.
American referee Geiger, a maths teacher from New Jersey, will be the man in the middle at Spartak Stadium.

He has already landed himself in some controversy after Morocco's Nordin Amrabat accused him of asking for Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo's shirt during the match between the two sides.
But Fifa angrily denied the claims in reply.
Geiger made his bow in American's top division in 2004 and became Fifa listed just four years later, taking charge of internationals and matches around the continent.
In 2011 he was the MLS referee of the year and a 12 months later was selected as as one of 16 referees to officiate at the 2012 Olympics in London.
